I wanted to demonstrate my abilities as a portrait painter and I think my inability to paint a van shows that my skills, if I have any, must lie elsewhere. Please bid to avoid my further embarrassment.
It is a pleasure and an honour to take part in Sarah's brilliant initiative Samarivans.
The invaluable work the Samaritans do can literally save lives and is there for people when they're struggling and in their lowest moments.

Bio
Tom is a portrait painter from Oxford who initiated Portraits for NHS Heroes, where he and hundreds of other artists produced thousands of free portraits for NHS key workers during the pandemic.
A fantastic book 'Portraits for NHS Heroes' published with Bloosmbury showcases some of the NHS portraits and is still available to buy, with a percentage of each copy sold going to NHS Charities Together.
Tom has also produced paintings for a wide range of clients, from academics, musicians and authors to Premiership footballers and politicians. Tom shows regularly at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, is a member of the Contemporary British Portrait Painters collective and is a Oxford Art Society member.
