Acrylic on canvas board.
This is based on a real scrap van that came in to be scrapped at the metal recycling site where I work. My brother lifted it up with our Leibherr crane so that I may take the reference photos I needed to create this piece.
Like many people, I know someone that has struggled with their mental health. Sadly, it is not always obvious and many people suffer alone but by supporting the vital work of charities like the Samaritans, many more will hopefully get the help they need.
Bio
I graduated with an MA in Fine Art from Sunderland University with distinction last year. As well as this, I exhibited in the Royal Academy of Arts summer exhibition 2022 with a painting of a scrap car highlighting the climate crisis. I was also a finalist in the first ever Louisa Waterford Art Prize at Lady Waterford Hall in 2022. Furthermore, I have recently been shortlisted for the Win It 2023 Art Prize at Aire Place Studios in Leeds. I have been part of multiple art exhibitions around the North East and my artwork is available at art galleries throughout the region.
