161 - Melanie Paice - DEVON VAN FUN

It's oil on board and it is based on Croyde bay beach (in North Devon). In my imagination the van has managed to drive into the sand dunes and park up with it's rear end facing the sea.
My husband and I had a lovely date night on Croyde bay beach last year as the sun went down.

Samarivans is a fantastic campaign. The Samaritans is such an important charity, for people to know that if ever they need it, there is someone available at the end of the phone line, anytime of the day is an incredibly valuable service. It's great to be able to support their work.

Melanie Paice She studied at Central St.Martins and De Montfort University and has a BA Hons in Fine Art (where she became friends with Sarah Graham).
Melanie works in a range of different mediums, predominantly oil paint, using a variety of surfaces including reclaimed slate. She is inspired by the landscape, the sea and figures in these settings. Melanie worked for Tate Modern and Tate Britain for over 7 years and likes to draw on her knowledge of art history to inspire her practical classes, lectures and sometimes even the way that she applies paint.
