102 - Graham Russell

I'm a 56 year old bi-polar sufferer, qualified Electrician and college tutor. I recently lost both parents to Cancer and needed a hobby to let my mind move away from grief.
Always wanted to be a Carpenter so I began learning to work with wood from skilled professionals, YouTube videos etc. I enjoyed it so much I converted my log cabin into a workshop and.. Plan-G Custom woodworking was born.
In my darkest days with bi-polar I turned to the wonderful people at Samaritans for a kind ear and their message that there is always hope for better times.
When I met Sarah Graham, I liked her immediately and loved her story & attitude. I felt inspired to offer my version of "Samarivan" in, of course……wood. The piece is made from scaffold boards which were used to build our house extension. I tried my hand at carving and used a blowtorch to add effects. Can't wait to see all the other Samarivans.
