068 - Beckie Reed - TWILIGHT

Beckie achieved a first class degree in Fine Art Painting from Loughborough University and has gone on to have many solo exhibitions, in London galleries and across the UK and has shown her work internationally; in New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Miami, Honk Kong, Singapore and Toronto.

She is continually drawn to woodland and treescapes. Many layers are built up to create beautiful, evocative paintings. The tree trunks and branches are dribbled on using a high gloss medium, requiring an element of control but also spontaneity to give the work a looseness and freedom. Each dribble captures a moment and is a permanent mark on the canvas that can’t be undone. This is contrasted with detailed areas, giving the work its energy and vibrancy.
